16' Old Town Canvas 'Peapod' Rowing Canoe
$3000 including Trailer and Gear
Excellent Restored
Built in 1955, this rare, comfortable, all-purpose rowing canoe is easy to handle, handsome in appearance, and steady on the water. It has cedar ribs currently covered with red canvas. There are 4 Shaw and Tenney oars included- two 6 1/2' and two 7 1/2' long, 2 pairs of metal oarlocks (U shaped and round) and a back rest. The canoe was restored by Rollin Thurlow (Northwoods Canoe) in 1990. This included a modification of the stern to create a small transom which accommodates a small outboard motor. This custom modification makes the boat even more versatile and elegant. According to Mr. Thurlow, there are very few Old Town boats of this model in this good of condition. The SN is 163973-16. It has been carefully stored indoors on a trailer. It is an ideal boat for the enjoyment of the whole family.
Condition: Excellent.
Location: mid-coast Maine.
Asking price $3000 including the boat trailer and gear.
