The U.P. Mi. Chapter is having a rendezvous June 2 and 3 in Big Bay which is about 25 miles North of Marquette. This is sponsered by North Bay Outfitters owned by Bill Kinjorski WCHA member. It will be held on the shore of Lake Independence. Camping is available as are various lodgings. Some folks can crash at my place if they wish. All are invited including folks from any other chapter. This event promises to be very nice and also fairly inexpensive, as camping facilities are exceptional at Perkins Park, which has showers and a nice pavillion, picnic tables, etc. We plan to inform the local media and encourage an enthusiastic crowd of locals to come out and see wooden canoes and kayaks. There will also be paddling demos and boats for people to try out (provided by the outfitters) and free bison burgers.
