Seeger and Guernsey's Cyclopaedia research

I was researching Guy Carleton and his canoe company recently when I stumbled into the Seeger and Guernsey's Cyclopaedia which was first published in the late 1800s. This was a country wide index of manufacturers similar to the state wide version known as the Maine Register described at http://forums.wcha.org/showthread.php?7166 previously. The 1890 and 1899 editions are available from Google books as shown below. Carleton is listed in both along with Rushton, Racine, and a few other familiar names. I found it equally interesting that Gerrish and many other famous names were not mentioned.

Research like this often takes you in unexpected directions like the Linenoid canoes from Crane Brothers in Westfield, Mass. They appear to be an early version of the Linkanoe as described in the 1901 advertisement attached below. Has anyone ever seen one of these?
