Meet the Strange New... Morris?

Thanks, Ed, for stopping by. We now know for certain that the inwales are ash and the outwales, thwarts, seat-frames and decks are cherry. We stopped at Rollin's yesterday. He believes the canoe may have been built by McCurdy and Reed of Nova Scotia, who have made Morris reproductions...

Rollin is 100% correct. Here are some shots of that style canoe from their website. You can see the same carry thwart, the same deck form and also the beaver tail stem.

:) Thanks, ALL, for your help sorting this out! The canoe is on its way home to the U.P. of MI. I'll add a few more pictures... the first is of Fred in Rollin's shop, shop dog, me with Rollin, and car with hat.
