Edison paddle

I went to the Edison, Ford estate in Fort Myers yesterday and although there were many fascinating things this particular item caught my interest. Nicely made paddle, got me wondering when large scale paddle manufacturers started. Did canoe manufacturers always produce their own Paddles?
You would think curators would know the difference between an oar and a paddle.
Can anyone Identify the canoe?

Can anyone Identify the canoe?

My guess would be an Old Town based on the deck and the shape of the sponsons. Most canoe manufacturers produced their own paddles although there were some independents like Shaw and Tenney. The paddle looks like an Old Town as well but you can't really be sure without a decal. I'm always surprised at how often people use 'oar' as a generic term for a paddle. Most dictionaries definitions don't clearly distinguish between the two.
