1. 1924 Meraco Speedster Square Stern Canoe
2. $8,150
6. Kalamazoo, MI (Can meet with serious buyers within 300 miles of Kalamazoo.)
7. This gem of a craft was built by the St. Louis-Meramec Canoe Company of Valley Park, MO. It was given to my grandmother by her parents for her 16th birthday in 1924 and has had only one other owner, a family member, since then. In 2016 she was beautifully and lovingly restored.
The wood and canvas Speedster was designed for speed with the square stern accepting an outboard motor, but it also includes oarlocks for rowing or can be paddled for slower travel. The v-bottom bow tapers to a nearly flat stern. Her length is 17 feet and beam is 40 inches. For additional stability, the Speedster includes air-filled sponsons cleverly designed and built into the sides so as to be unnoticeable.
Miss Thel, as she was named after restoration, has been on the water only 3-4 times since her restoration in 2016.
This offer includes a trailer as seen in the pictures, oars (not original), and a 2016 Tohatsu 5 h.p. outboard. The outboard has less than 6 hours of use.
8. Condition - Excellent Restored
