Description: 2003 Chestnut Bob's Special is a reproduction built by Spencer Canoe Company, Ontario, Canada. Handcrafted wood and canvas canoe with white cedar planks and ribs, white ash gunwales, curved cherry carrying yoke and two hand caned seats plus removable mast-thwart and ACA Class sailing rig.
This canoe can be sailed or paddled:
Sailing: Rig meets ACA Class racing standards; tapered sitka spruce mast and spars, mahogany leeboard, cherry rudder, mast-thwart & step, Dacron ACA Class lateen racing sail, nylon sail bag, floatation bags, lines, stainless fittings and cast bronze gooseneck.
Paddling: Light, easy to paddle, portage or place on a roof rack. Paddle solo or tandem with moderate tumble home for stability and a shoe keel for tracking.
