  17' Old Town Beautifully Restored
  Beautifully restored late 1950's Old Town wood/canvas canoe. Restoration was just finished this spring. 17 ft., approx. 70 lbs. Looks better than when it came from the factory. Four broken ribs replaced, several feet of planking, new canvas, marine spar varnish, Kirby enamel two tone paint with pinstripe, brass stem bands and keel. Two really nice paddles included. You will be hard pressed to find a nicer one for less money. Pictures of restoration available. Has not been in water since restoration.

  Price - $300 (or less ?) not important to me
  Location - Winchester, VA
  Description - 17' wood/canvas, likely Old Town, brown paint covers too much of the interior to find a serial number, strongly resembles Old Town early 1900s model. Bought in the condition seen in the current photos as a restoration project around 1973, but ... you've heard it before, no time. Kept in a building since it was purchased until a month ago when it's owner moved to a retirement home. Need to find this diamond in the rough a home before winter weather sets in. Would make a good winter project for someone capable. I believe it is structurally sound. In need of stripping, re-canvassing and so on. Could be great fun next Spring. Any interest, please contact me soon. Would love to tell Dad it is finally going to be restored.

  Description: Hoping to get this canoe into the right hands. This canoe has been in my Mom's garage for over 35 years untouched. She is elderly and a move is pending. Canoe belonged to my father though he no longer wants it. Priced to move quickly. Buyer will need to handle all elements of transportation. I live on the west coast and will be moving my mother out here soon.
  Canoe is a 1927 Old Town which needs a lot of restoration work. Not much is known about it.

  A reputable source in the canoe restoration world made this general appraisal- our canoe in pretty good shape, needs a new covering and varnish renewal with only about $600 work if done yourself. The canoe has been indoors for 30 years. For about $4000 you have a new heritage wooden canoe with paddles and flexible passenger seat!
