    It seems to float like a......cork. The internal construction, explained in the listing is a bit unusual. I've sworn at plywood a time or two, but I never tried threatening it.

    That's nothing. Check out "Cork Boat" by John Pollack. A great read about his journey to build a cork boat. It's not about a canoe, but you can't have everything.     I especially like the arm "floaties" he is wearing in the photos. Are they Coast Guard approved?
