I'm fairly new to this forum, and was looking for advice on converting/adapting my 17' OTCA for sailing. If anyone has a kit, or could direct me to where I might be able to acquire one, I'd appreciate the help. Thanks Dave Brown

Many of the restorers listed at http://www.wcha.org/buildsupply/ would be willing to help you assemble a sailing rig. Scott Barkdoll of the Skywoods Canoe Company even lists one on his price list at http://www.skywoodscanoes.com/canoes/pricelist.html#Sail Rig for example. My experience is that you can often buy an old canoe with a sail rig for very close to what you can resell the canoe alone without the sail rig. There are often a few things missing so you may need to find a few to get all the parts you want. Dan Miller's page at http://dragonflycanoe.com/otacc/index.html is a nice reference guide if you aren't sure what you need. Good luck,

Benson

A nearly complete donated Old Town sailing rig will be offered at the WCHA Assembly auction.

I will be posting pictures in the next few days.

I don't know if the whole rig will be offered as one auction lot, or if parts of the rig will be offered in a number of auction lots -- that's up to Andre Cloutier and the others who are in charge of the auction/raffle.
