Under seat drawer

Wooden Canoes are in the Blood
I'm working on an Old Town Double-End boat. Was there ever a drawer installed under the stern seat on these boats? It seems like a handy thing to have and with the plank seats an easy thing to add.

Thanks.

I've never seen one that came from the factory that way but this was a frequent addition on many of the square ended fishing boats as shown at http://images.craigslist.org/00n0n_hGtuYDno06Z_600x450.jpg for example. The older ones often had a fancy support there as shown below from 1906.

Thanks Benson,

I have a ways to go to get this boat back on the water so I'm not going to add it now, but it would be a good Sunday afternoon project if I find myself with nothing to do - as if that ever happens. I still have to make and install the outwales, floor rack, keel, outside stems etc etc. This boat has a spritsail so I will be asking questions on how that is supposed to be set up when I get to that point.

Thanks again,

Jim
