A fascinating story about Amos Burg who ran many of the great western rivers; Columbia, Snake, Green when they still ran free. His travels eventually took him all over the world, and the use of other watercraft (first rubber raft through the Grand Canyon). However, he used an Old Town on the Columbia which was destroyed on his first attempt on the Snake. On his second successful attempt he used a Chestnut, from then on it was the Chestnut.
