"Specal" paint designs

You don't get the opportunity to paint a boat like this too often. In fact in 33 years this is the first time and now I have two of them in the shop at the same time from two different customers! What are the odds!
The short one is a 11 ft Old Town 50lb model built in 1963.
The longer one is a 18 ft Otca, built 1958

Wow, was that an original paint job? Was it listed as an option? Perhaps owned by a dealer? Are you going to paint them the same way? Am I asking too many questions?:):):)

Wow, was that an original paint job?

The Otca's paint job was done that way at the factory as shown on the first build record below. These were commonly done for photographers who wanted to be able to easily change the color of the canoe for the scene they wanted to shoot.

The second build record below shows a modern Molitor model with design number four on the starboard side and design number 46 on the port side. The starboard side of this canoe is shown at http://www.wcha.org/catalogs/old-town/covers/large-65.gif and http://www.wcha.org/catalogs/old-town/postcard/molitor.gif shows the port side.

Chris, dont be naiive. After you robbed the bank in a green boat, no one noticed the red one going by during the getaway as they searched for the green one.
