Does anyone have experience in shipping a canoe to other states? I live in PA and person in Texas wants a canoe. He is willing to pay shipping but I have no idea who to contact or how to prepare the canoe for shipping. Any and all help is appreciated.
    thanks

I once sold a canoe that KAS Transport at http://www.shipyourkayak.com/shipped to California. They might give you a reasonable rate. You can wrap it in plastic if you want to protect it. Good luck,

They shipped a sea kayak once for me and a small sailboat, both out to the east coast. They are drastically more careful with your boat than typical truck freight will be. If they happen to be going your way, they're pretty tough to beat.

I've had good luck with KAS although I have not shipped anything with them recently.
Occasionally WCHA members will offer to transport. If you opt that way make sure your expectations align.
I offered to have my son make an out of the way trip for a canoe and it turned out be an eye opening PITA for both of us....
    Good luck.

You can also go with Florida Transporter if you ever need transportation service in future.
