Old Town canoe with original paddles and catelog. Can you tell me how much it is worth?

Welcome, the Old Town canoe with hull identification number XTC03016M74L and serial number 203016 is a 16 foot long fiberglass Carleton model that weighed 82 pounds. It was built in July, 1974. The original exterior gelcoat color was red. It shipped on July 16th, 1974 to Groton, Conn. The back side of this record shows that there were some mold marks on the keel and a bubble was filled on the bottom. The warranty card was returned from Abington, Mass. in 1976. Scans showing both sides of this build record can be found by following the links at the attached thumbnail images below.

This scan and several hundred thousand more were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others. A description of the project to preserve these records is available at http://www.wcha.org/catalogs/old-town/records/ if you want more details. I hope that you will contribute, join, or renew your membership to the WCHA so that services like this can continue. See http://www.wcha.org/about-wcha to learn more about the WCHA and http://www.wcha.org/store/membership to join.

It is also possible that you could have another number or manufacturer if this description doesn't match your canoe. The information that Paul referenced above was written for wooden canoes. The same principles will apply to your canoe but the price range is much lower. Most fiberglass canoes sell for a few hundred dollars. Both craigslist and eBay frequently have listings of similar canoes if you are looking for examples. Feel free to reply here if you have any other questions. Good luck with the sale,

Benson

Thank you - very helpful. I have an interested buyer who is asking me how much for the canoe, 3 paddles, and trailer - all in good condition. I didn't know what to ask, but a few hundred sounds right. Thanks!
