I have been messing around in canoes most of my life. I've wanted a Grand Laker since, well, the first time I saw one. The stars finally aligned last summer and we made the 3 hour trip from Milford to Grand Lake Stream to pick up a 1970s fiberglass over rib and plank. It's in great shape and has been well maintained. The paint on the bottom of the hull has fine cracks in it and I am assuming I need to repaint it. Do I give it a quick sand and a coat of marine paint, or is there more to it? I have never maintained a wooden canoe, so any help is appreciated.
