Portage Cart Project

Hey Everyone, Well with last weeks Gathering at Saranac Lake I discovered that I am in need of a Portage Cart for my Guide Boat. So Today I went looking through all my collected stuff that was in my storage shed from our combined families, (Wife & I ) & found this Golf Bag carrier. I looked it over and it met all of my requirements for the cart. The wheels retract into a nice narrow stored position and it is made with very light aluminum. This week I will be adapting it to fit the hull of my Guide Boat and it will work nicely . (I Think) LMAO. I'll keep posting pictures of the transformation of it and show the finished project in use.

Charger, I was looking at your cart project. The only thing you may want to concider is the terrain that you will navigate on or through. If you may be going over rough terrain or rocks you may want to concider on getting some larger diameter wheels, just a suggestion. This will bring the boat up higher as well to allow for less drag...good luck

Hey JHomer, For where I will be going with my boat this will work just fine. I already know where I'll be with it and how the terrain is there. But I thank you for the suggestion. If I find that I need larger wheels I know that I can find them locally and will fit right onto this golf bag cart.

Hello Everyone, Well it took me two days and a few trail and error pieces of scrap plywood but I was able to make the cart. Here are some pictures of the final product.

I'll post some pictures of the boat sitting on it tonight after my son gets home to help me carry the boat outside. Thanks, Lance
