Do you think this was original with the colors and pattern? It's from a pre 1920 peterborough cedar rib canoe. I'm not sure I care about what I do but if I could do it according to original I probably would.

Well I just watched a caning video that Jack W sent me and due to the size of the holes and the space left in them I very much doubt this was original.
