Join master craftsman, Geoffrey Burke of Chicorua Boatworks, for a Paddlemaking workshop, Sunday, March 8 at Hulbert Outdoor Center in Fairlee, Vermont. The workshop will run from 8:30 – 12:30 and includes lunch. You will take home a beautifully crafted paddle at the end of the morning. Cost for the workshop, all materials & lunch is $95. Geoffrey Burke has conducted numerous courses in paddlemaking and boat building over the last 25 years. There will also be paddle-making workshops at the Assembly this summer, both single blade (canoe) and double-blade (kayak), as well as a canoe pole-making workshop, led by none other than the same aforementioned Geoff Burke.

On the heritage side, there will also be demos on how to make a traditional (softwood) paddle and one on how to make an emergency paddle.
