Paddle on the Historic Charles

Wooden Canoes are in the Blood
In Memoriam
Saturday, August 23, 2014: Norumbega at Norumbega. We will paddle and picnic on the Charles River in the area of the old Norumbega Park. If you have a Charles River canoe, be sure to bring it! John Fitzgerald has scouted out the area and has come up with a launch site that should work well for us.

Meet anytime after 9:00 am at Purgatory Park, which is at the end of Woerd Avenue, in Waltham. Woerd Avenue is off Crescent Street, not far from the Maple Street Bridge. We can paddle up to the Commonwealth Avenue Bridge and return and then spend more time paddling around Purgatory Cove.

We will be paddling near the locations of the Arnold, Waltham, and Nutting Canoe Shops to name a few. The Waltham Watch Factory has also been extensively renovated and is a nice photogenic backdrop.

See Steve launch his Kingsbury Project!
