Old Town Chicagoland Canoe Base

The Old Town canoe with serial number 209466 is an 18 foot long Otca model with a canvas covering, a keel, a stem band along the full length of the keel, and two painter rings. It was built between September, 1975 and February, 1978. The original exterior paint was red. It shipped on March 20th, 1978 to Chicago, Illinois. The back side of the record shows that it was purchased on May 20th, 1978 and stayed in Chicago. Scans showing both sides this build record can be found below.
These scans and several hundred thousand more were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others as you probably know well.
