A few of the Norumbegas braved the still waters of the Nashua River today. The foliage is just starting to make a turn here and the temperatures were in the 80's, rare for October. (Despite the temperatures, we complied with the cold weather PFD laws here). Steve and Ed paddled Ed's Old Town Guide and I took the Bob's Special.
The Nashua River runs through a federal wildlife refuge (Oxbow) and adjacent to what remains of Fort Devens. The sounds of large caliber, automatic weapons during the paddle suggests our troops are well trained for their important jobs.
Unfortunately, a lurking pointed log required a quick field repair of Ed's guide. A little duct tape got us through the trip and some quick repair will make it new again.
