MN Chapter Winter Gathering

Dan Lindberg

Ex Wood Hoarder
MN Canoe Folks,

Dan and Ann Strootman have again invited us to their workshop in Sunburg, MN for a weekend get-together. The invite is open to all but overnight spaces may be limited, so let Dan or Ann know as soon as possible if you will be joining in the fun.

Date: February 17-18, Sat/Sun
Where: Sunburg MN

If you haven't come out to a MN Chapter WCHA gathering before, that's OK, come on out and meet the folks, talk (and maybe see) w/c canoes ( or bring your's if you want an opinion on it) and share in the good food and company.

No large projects are planned but the shop will be open to work on unfinished projects (bring your own project) or the start of a new project.

Dan S. would like to put on a demonstration of the all the power tools; so maybe you want to mill up some wood, rough-out a paddle or pattern and cut out the pieces to build a beautiful Adirondack chair. Jim Beilke is going to bring the chair plans but everyone will have to supply his/her own material.

Or if you want to make/weave a basket, you can join Anne and Trish in the house.

If they have an overflow of overnight guests Dan's plan is to set up the hunting tent (heated) outside for the guys while the gals sleep inside. (sleeping bags and cots required)

Bring your own beverages but contact Anne for food suggestions (to bring) to complement her great meal plans and main course dishes.

RSVP to Dan and Ann Strootman (danncraft@tds.net) with info on your visit; day or overnight and how many.

Contact Jim Beilke (pjb123@redred.com) if you plan to work on an
Adirondack chair for the materials list/plan.

Contact Ann Strootman (danncraft@tds.net) if you plan to make a basket for qualification and the cost of materials (may be an advanced basket).

And, if for some reason you can't get a hold of the Strootmans you may call or email Tim Eaton (651-698-4203 / teaton@eanda.com) or myself.
