I went out and got another canoe to add to the fleet, this one a skin on frame with ballistic nylon (Dacron) covering. It weighs less than 20 pounds. Made locally here in Niagara.
Hey Rob, good for you, nice canoe! I need something like that, this birch bark canoe leaks and I had trouble getting it back to the truck after my paddle as it gets heavier with the soaking up of water during a paddle. Not getting younger, ha.
