Wisconsin River Float
Arena to Spring Green

July 12

About 20 miles west of Madison on Hwy 14, take Willow Street/River Road from Arena north about three miles to the river.

Plan to arrive at 10 a.m. We will need to shuttle vehicles from the put in to Spring Green.
Trip length is about 12 miles. It should take about 6 hours. We’ll stop on a few sand bars to get some sun, play in the pools and sip refreshments, etc. BYO food and drink. Takeout is at Bob’s Riverside Landing about two miles past the Hwy 23 bridge on the right. We will complete the shuttle and retire to Bob’s for burgers, pizza, brewskies and whatever.

Pictures

Hi,

Finally posting some pictures.

We had four canoes in the water on a very warm and windy day. We were paddling into the wind of course.

The river is wide and had a large number of paddlers. A number of canoe livery services put people and canoes on the river, many camp overnight on the sandbars and the sandy shores.

Great time was had by all.

Paul

Paul and all who were out on the Wisconsin River in June.
I received my DVD from Morrall River Films
http://www.morrallriverfilms.com/
They are the folks who videoed us going down river and they had a nice plucg for Great Rivers and WCHA.
The video is very good and I anticipate using it before my next Wi river trip. No close ups of faces but a lot of the canoes and all of us paddling at different times.
