Floor rack installation

Curious about Wooden Canoes
Hi everyone, I am getting closer to finishing my 39 OT HW and had a question about the floor rack. When I got it it had a floor rack sitting loose with no method of holding it in place and none was mentioned on the build sheet. I have seen a few distant pictures here and was wondering if the proper way would be to make a the spacer block and attach it on to the rib with a longer keel screw. Is one fastener (a piece of stem band) on each stem and one in the center enough? Attached is a couple of pictures, however I haven' t cleaned and varnished the rack yet. Thanks!

These were commonly held in with two small screws on the sides as shown below on my 1936 Otca. The number will depend on the length of the canoe. Mine is 18 feet and has five, one in the center, two on each stem, and two in between. Let me know if this doesn't answer your question.
