Could anyone help with the history of this canoe. It is a 17' Old Town fiberglass, serial number 196767 on the bow and XTC96767M73A on the stern.

The serial number you have provided was built as a 17' Carlton, shipped on August 8, 1973 to Chicagoland Canoe Base. The original color was Yellow and weighted 84#. Build record attached.
