greetings what is the type of epoxy used to shore up rib ends? Also and somewhat related I am redoing a Tremblay which was done with staples, miserable things which really liked to break. Should I fill in the stem bands with something prior to recanvassing? thanks

I've used West 105 epoxy/206 catalyst on rib tips. Usually cut a scarf to increase surface area, then butter both surfaces with the resin, and follow that with some fine sawdust mixed with resin. Wrap with wax paper or plastic and clamp into place - usually overnight. Removing excess with a knife or hacksaw blade is easier if it gets done before the epoxy is hard as a rock - 12/15 hrs, then sand smooth. Tom McCloud
