LOVES Wooden Canoes
Last year in early April I paddled into Lows Lake in New Yorks Adirondack Park. The ice on the lake had just left and I took advantage of some warm calm weather for 4 days. The winter gate was closed on the access road so I had to cart my gear 1/4 mile in to the put in. After the second portage around the upper dam I stashed my cart and paddled the rest of the 12 miles to my site.
I paddled a 15' Chestnut Chum and between the small wall tent, interior frame, wood stove, cot and gear I was pretty much at the canoes limit. I hugged the shorline for saftey in such cold water and was very happy to enjoy such calm waters on a lake known for it's rough conditions.
I will be displaying my canvas tent and outfit at this years assembly so stop by and have a look.
