Do the archives contain any serial #,s on these canoes? built before 1920. This is what I have been told what my canoe is. I am "an old lady' and a novice but just intrigued by a canoe. i have really been enjoying and learning a lot from this web site and reading the info in the forums Thanks Rachel Jones

No, we don't have any serial number records for Detroit Boat Company. The only companies we do have records for are Old Town, Carleton (owned by Old Town), Kennebec, and a handful of more contemporary builders like Seliga. Some companies, like Penn Yan and Peterborough, coded some details in the serial number, but Detroit is not one of them.
