Del Val Chapter at Paddlesport

This past weekend, March 24-26, the Delaware Valley Chapter was "representin' " at the Paddlesport show in Somerset, NJ. Paddlesport is one of the largest canoe and kayak shows on the east coast, and each year we are there to help balance out all of the yellow and orange plastic kayaks.

This year we brought Ken Wallo's hundred year old Racine "Indian Paddler" and George Wilkerson's 15 ft cedar/canvas solo boat of his own design.

We also had some hi-tech stuff going. We, of course, showed the new WCHA video non-stop, and we also had a slide show of Ken's trip up to Jerry Stelmok's shop to build his Willow.

Between the canoes and the video, we got to talk to quite a few people. When we were tired of talking, we sent them over to Al Bratten's "Woodstrip Watercraft" booth next store. Hopefully, we will see some of them at our gathering this year.
