Enthusiastic about Wooden Canoes
Greetings to all:

We are having a meeting and paddle at Stephen C. Foster Park in Fargo, Georgia. It will be the last week-end of October on the 27th and 28th. We are paddling on the Okefenokee Swamp and staying in the cottages at the park. There are also campgrounds if the cottages are full. We invite all of you who are interested to come out for a time of fun, fellowship, and enjoying and exploring nature. Some of us have already rented a cottage and we plan to come the night before on the 26th. Tom and Lynne Wasson from Fernandino Beach, Florida are going to be making a pot of chili. They have extended an invitation to join them at their cottage for dinner on Friday night. Everyone is invited! I was thinking if we could all bring a food item, a side dish, drinks, or a dessert that it would nice to share in the fun.

Here now is the site to make a reservation for a cottage or campgrounds and furher information for Stephen C. Foster Park: http://gastateparks.org/StephenCFoster

Another site for PHOTOS and a SHORT CLIP of a bellowing alligator: http://www.okefenokee.com/photos-of-the-okefenokee/

I found a video which has still photos of a paddling trip on the Okefenokee swamp and was made by Bonnie Heath: http://vimeo.com/10679164

Looks like the young adults are having alot of fun and enjoying nature. Also, the canoes may have been rentals which the park offers as well.

We look forward to a great turn-out and meeting new folk's and seeing old friends. We encourage you to join us and hope everyone can make it!
