Recently I hauled home a Chestnut 14-footer, perhaps a Playmate. The owner thinks she bought it in the 1960s. I've read previous posts RE: Playmate, and particularly the ones from Murat were valuable. The photos he posted in 2015 look nearly identical to mine. I also have the WCHA Canadian Canoe Company catalogs stick, and have read the specks for the Playmate. The only obvious difference is that mine has 2.5" ribs spaced 2" apart, and I do not find those dimensions for a Playmate anywhere thru multiple years. A different model, the "Little", did have the wider ribs. Stamped into the bow stem is something, maybe 11759 or maybe 11 / 59 - could this be November of 1959? So maybe a Playmate, or a Little, or a Peternut? Ideas, or other things that I should check? Tom McCloud
