Canvassing the St.Croix

JPembleton

Chest Nut
A couple of buddies and I canoed the St.Croix River that runs the border between Maine and New Brunswick. We put in at a camp site on Spendic Lake, crossed the dam and paddled to Loon Bay.

Weather was great but the water was low. We were surprised at how few canoes we saw considering it was an American long weekend.

Rocks, rocks and more rocks have left the canvas on my Atkinson Traveller a little worse for wear but it is mostly cosmetic scratches and one scrape that exposed a bit of the canvas that will need a small repair. Good news... I didn't bust any wood :).

Nice photos! You are fortunate. I put a hole in our Veazie today right there in the barn with it on the rack. My old broken planer fell over all on it's own. It holed the canvas and broke a rib. I am soooooooooooooo p-ssed. It was our only user.

PS. Sorry for the hijack I had to vent!
