I'd offer to do it for you but I've never done a square stern before, and I just don't feel comfortable experimenting on someone else's baby!

One might consider looking for one that is in pristine ready to go condition. It is currently possible for someone to purchase a fine Kingfisher for less than the cost of restoration and canvasing. Yes, that is quasi cryptic. I have never liked to promote other folks' items on the chance that someone may be right on the cusp of closing a deal.... but this one seems to be taking way too long to find a new home. I resisted but only because I bought a canoe.
