Canoe Display Stand Plans? Do any exist???

Soon to be CANOE-A-HOLIC
I've been looking all over for any plans on display stands (not storage racks) but, just am not having any luck.
Looking for something with the "Scissor" or "X" style of a classy look made out of wood with supporting fabric or leather straps. Not really looking for the commercial type.

Might just have to design my own but, wondered if anyone knew if some plans existed.

Thanks in advance! Enjoy the cooler weather!

I don't have plans as such, but the construction of mine are pretty simple - 2 x4s as fancy as you like with rounded ends, a rope across the bottom and a sling strap, They work very well.

Ken Kelly has a particularly ornate "X" style stand that he displayed one of his courting canoes on at this summer's Assembly.

Mike Elliott shares his rough plans and dimensions for the stands he uses on his blog.
I've built 2 sets using that info as a guide.

Check out canoeguybc.wordpress.com and search "how to display standsfor wood canvas canoe".
Easy and fast!

Cheers
Bruce

Awesome and thanks for the info.

Todd, I'll buy a set from you if the canoe comes with them!o_O

Rob, I have seen a few courting canoes displayed on some really fancy "X" style ones. That where my search began.

Gil, thanks for the link.

Bruce, Thanks for the Blog link. Great info there!

Happy paddling!

Here is the stand Rob mentioned. Built by Dave Davidson

Martin,

I like the low profile of yours. Plus it's compact in size.

Thanks for sharing the pics and reference measurements.

Paul,

Gotta luv polished copper. What are the support pads made from? They look like sheet rock sanding pads painted copper color.

Beauty of a canoe there too.
