Curious if anyone might know of the manufacturer of this canoe that was brought to me for restoration work...
The bow inner stem has #1086 stamped into it.
The (shoe?) keel was held on with steel bolts and T-nuts.
All of the fasteners are square-headed, rusty (ferrous) steel screws/bolts that were possibly zinc coated(?).
The stem bands are aluminum and were tacked onto the bow and stern. However, one steel screw was used on the ends where they attach on the top of each deck.
The old green and red bow decal is missing but the owner provided a photo (attached) from a few years ago. There appears to be a name on the decal starting with a K_co___?
The current owner lives in New Mexico and he mentioned the canoe came from somewhere back east.
Any assistance with identifying this is greatly appreciated!
