Attached is a picture of the cake Denis made me, and the Birthday Person myself.

The frosting comes from and Old Family Recipe, passed-on through generations via mitochondrial DNA. And my cake was further honored by presentation on the Kallery Family Cakestand.

But what says the most is that Denis ventured out in sub-zero weather to secure all the ingredients. That's poetry!

Must be some recipe to warrant a shopping expedition in sub-zero weather. Is it a secret, or can you share?

No big deal. It was just a box cake that I modified. I just didn't have anything in the house to make. so had to go get stuff. Sub zero is not that strange here either in Jan and Feb.
