    Cut it in half? That just makes it a little trickier. You could still change our mind!

    The right thing to do.

    I just couldn't do it myself. But the story is not over. That old rotted PY Guide is responsible for a form and the fist canoe off that form now has a covering of some real tough dacron from Gil.

    The next step is the filler. I bought some UGL latex from home depot. It is basement waterproofing. This is not anything I came up with but i was wondering----

    Has anyone used UGL and how did it go?

    My concern is that the silica may not be fine enough but I don't know for sure.

    and the answer is--

    I did a small test panel. UGL has good texture like batter and would work but the silica is way too course. The test panel is like sand paper, so the stuff won't work. I have some traditional filler from Wm Cl so will use that tonight.
