Curious about Wooden Canoes
oar lock base.jpg
I am working on a 1946 OT AA Guide canoe. The oarlock plates are still attached, but the other halves are missing. I have attached a photo.
Does anyone know 1) what the other parts looked like? 2) where can I find some replacements?
I have seen the ones Shaw and Tenney make...they look like they may be similar...but $198 !
Any help appreciated.

Best Regards,
Kat

Attached is a photo that shows what the swivel-plate oarlocks look like when complete. You can find these relatively frequently on ebay or at boat show flea markets. Best to buy complete sets that match, because loose horns often won't fit the plates on hand. If you bring the plates with you, you can test fit the horns before buying.

PS. moved your post to a new thread, since these are different than Adirondack guideboat hardware...
