LOVES Wooden Canoes
I went back to Lows Lake again the first week of the northern zone deer season for a 6 day camp/hunt. The weather was extremely warm, 20 degrees over average and I also weathered through a 24 hour wind storm with gusts over 50 mph.
The little hunting I did this year was in a tee shirt and only thing I saw was lots of active moose sign. But, I ate well, I read a lot, got some decent paddling in and slept well.
The 12 mile paddle in with one portage was in a headwind and that took a couple of days for me to recover from.
It was a good trip in my little downsized wall tent /wood stove that I had on display at Paul Smiths this year.
I camped at "Virgin Timber Landing" site on Lows Lake, NY ADK's
Some good eats cooked over the wood stove,
My 15' Chestnut Chum loaded.
Breakfast with a view
Drying out the Chum after a wet paddle in.
