Craig, its one of several types of silver/gold/chrome polish. Seems to have been around forever, and used many many tubes during my british bike days, made the aluminum cases shine.

Did it also keep the Amal carbs from leaking gas on your legs? I wish I had known about this stuff 45 years ago.

best cure for that was a single Mikuni conversion...

We always used Simichrome, probably same.
