ONE HUNDRED YEARS LATER…
Members Greg Nolan and Deborah Gardner were inspired to stage this photo, in the fall of 2013, by the image on an antique postcard taken from the exact same location one hundred years earlier. The site is on the Piscataquis River in Southern Maine, a way upstream from the town of Dover-Foxcroft. Their canoe is a 1922 Old Town Ideal model, 16 feet in length, AA grade, which has been beautifully restored by Ralph Nimtz of Wallingford, Vermont.
