1992 Tom MacKenzie built Loon Works Mistral
Reduced asking price.
Built in 1992 by Tom Mackenzie, the Mistral is a 15-foot solo canoe which weighs appoximately 40 pounds. This beautiful craft is constructed of white cedar ribs, red cedar planking, and cherry thwart, seat, gunwales and inner stems. It has birds-eye maple decks and curly maple gunwale filler strips in proximity to the seat. The canoe includes the original removable, sculpted, cherry carrying yoke and zippered canvas cover.
I believe I am the second or third owner. The canoe remains in beautiful original condition, except that the previous owner (I think) painted the hull dead grass green with a shellacked bottom.
I hate to part with this, but the need to downsize our home coupled with my inabilty to kneel while paddling have “forced my hand”.
